Beauty Product Reviews | My Thoughts
I cover it all, well some products. From the "why did I waste my money on this crap?" to the "oh. muh. unicorns. where have you been all my life?" products. Click below on each image, to read my review.
c/o Birchbox For that perfect pout/duck face, try the new Smashbox lip lacquers. The formula is thick, but not sticky -
I've already reviewed these lipsticks (in a nut shell, they're amazing!) but here's one of my favorite reds lipsticks from the drugstore.
Comparison: When using a primer (NYX White Base) both of these shadows appear more vibrant and "wet like" in finish. They're almost dupes of each other as far as color, pigmentation, texture, and finish goes. Both have a shimmer/metallic shine. Contrast: L'Oreal shadows are a hit and miss as far as color payoff goes, where as all of NYX pearl pigments are super vibrant with one sweep.
Packaging: 10/10; squeeze tube with twist top, 1.7 fl oz Product: 10/10; This daily moisturizer with SPF 30, has soy to help reduce blotchiness & dark spots. I saw a drastic difference after two weeks of using this every morning. This has replaced all of my other day-time moisturizers and my skin has never looked so smooth and radiant until now. Holy grail product that I will continue to repurchase! I paid $13 (USA) for this at Walmart vs. $18 at Walgreens.
(11) Bella Charcoal, shimmer (14) Bella Violet, shimmer 10/10; Just like my website name implies - I'm all about being colorful. From looks to attitude. So naturally, I had to pick up one color shadow. These new Milani gel powder shadows are insanely creamy, pigmented and easy to blend. I was very impressed when I did one swipe on my hand. I will say that they are super easy to wipe off (that could be good and bad for some). To see pictures, look at my "Travel Inspiration No. 10" photos
This summer, I am all about that effortlessly chic, boho style with minimal makeup. I love that these can be used alone, just one sweep of color all over the lid with some eyeliner and mascara - and you're good to go! Or glam it up! I have become obsessed with these shadows because they're super silky and pigmented. Job well done, L'Oreal!
Pretty much every makeup look I do, I use the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyshadows as a base. Simply apply it all over the lid, blend the crease, then apply a shadow on top. I've never used these by itself as a shadow, so not sure how they hold up. But as a base, they're perfect! I like this method of applying shadow because it creates different textures, color combinations, prolongs your shadow, intensives the color, etc.
Design: 10/10; I'm an art geek so anything paint splatter gets me excited. Simple, standard packaging. Pastel Eye Pencils: 10/10; Creamy, Doesn't make my eyes water Black Felt-tip Liner: 7/10; Easy to create perfect wing, Super black, Dries fast, Budges Lip Stains: 9/10; Sheer but buildable, Longwearing, Slightly dry, No taste/odor Eyeshadow Palette: 6/10; Smooth but has fall out, Not blendable or pigmented, Slightly sheer/wash of color once applied
I'm sure most people have heard of the drugstore brand, WetnWild Cosmetics. These very inexpensive lipsticks might be cheap, but they pack a lot of pigment. Plus there's a huge variety of colors, and some "similar/almost dupes" to some high end brands.
These drugstore lipsticks are by far my holy grails - even over my high end brands like MAC. They're affordable, super creamy, longwearing, plus they smell and taste like Jolly Ranchers. UMM, YES PLEASE! GIVE ME ALL OF THEM. Do you see how pigmented these bad boys are? I'm very impressed with this brand, especially since they don't test on animals! ;)
TESTIMONIALS:
These are my opnions. I was not sent these, paid or influenced in any way to speak highly of a certain product and/or brand. Since I have a wide variety of makeup, I have some knowledge of what works and what doesn't. I am just a makeup geek who enjoys trying new products.
